There has been a lot of activity in Rio Cucharas and Greenhorn Village this summer.

While summer was wetter than usual, September has been drier and hotter than usual resulting in high fire danger.

The County says:  It is a violation of local zoning regulations to cultivate marijuana for personal use on properties without a residential structure.  

Notices have been issued:  

• to some land owners for growing marijuana without having a residential structure
• to people violating building code and not obtaining permits
• a trailer home and jeep abandoned in the street right of way were towed away

People are encouraged to report violations to Steve Channel at the Building Department.
